DANCE:CRAFT

Reflecting on the limbic system, molecular memories and the continual erosion occurring within us, objects further extend the language and structure of the body enhancing the visual and narrative possibilities in time and space.

DANCE:CRAFT

PREMIERING NOVEMBER 2020

Blurring the lines between fine art and folk art, construction and performance, costume and the body as object, the tactile sensation of handmade objects juxtaposed with the ephemeral quality of the dancing body triggers a tactile experience. We’re looking at connections between communities and the natural world, the human family, changing seasons and time lapse.

This work speaks to our connection with ancient materials like water and stone, our relationship to the elements. Reflecting on the limbic system, molecular memories and the continual erosion occurring within us, objects further extend the language and structure of the body enhancing the visual and narrative possibilities in time and space.
